Dr. Jem Powell, Clinical Psychologist
Jem believes that people want a life full of joy, challenge and deep connection with their loved ones and larger community. Unfortunately, many of us desire those qualities of life-but have trouble accessing them in the moment. Dr. Jem will encourage you to explore your joy and help you navigate challenge areas where you struggle to connect. The goal of her therapeutic approach is to increase your choice, recognize systemic and personal barriers, and, ultimately, create a path to a life full of resonance and enthusiasm.
Jem strives for a practice that finds humor in life and helps clients ask themselves difficult questions about their inner world and society with the support of a trained teammate. She offers her skills as a doctoral-educated, human being who will be open to discussing oppression, class, race and the queering of gender, sexuality and relationships. You can rely on Dr. Jem’s approach to be practical, candid, and relatable.
