Kyleigh Hopperstad

Kyleigh is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and provisionally licensed as a Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist (LCAS-A) in North Carolina, with experience supporting adolescents, adults, and first responder/military populations navigating trauma, substance use, and complex mental health needs.

Kyleigh is passionate about working with individuals experiencing complex PTSD, depressive disorders, personality disorders, and dual diagnoses—particularly those who have felt misunderstood, misdiagnosed, or dismissed by past providers. She has a heart for serving neurodivergent individuals and people navigating emotionally intense or dysregulated states. Whether it’s trauma from early caregiving relationships, chronic stress, identity confusion, or systemic harm, Kyleigh brings warmth, realness, and non judgment into the room.

With training in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Prolonged Exposure (PE), and Structured Psychotherapy for Adolescents Responding to Chronic Stress (SPARCS), Kyleigh blends evidence-based strategies with a deeply relational and person-centered approach. Her work is grounded in DBT, ACT, and CBT frameworks, and she’s always seeking new tools, training's, and perspectives to better meet each client’s unique needs.

She believes therapy should feel like a partnership—not a power dynamic. Clients appreciate Kyleigh’s down-to-earth vibe, honest reflections, and strong respect for their autonomy. She’s a therapist who truly gets how hard it is to ask for help in a world that’s often overwhelming, invalidating, or outright cruel—and she shows up ready to walk alongside her clients through healing with humor, empathy, and fierce compassion.

Outside the therapy room, Kyleigh enjoys wildly colorful hair, crafting with her kitties, being outside, tattoos with meaning, playing video games, and laughing at her own jokes (because let’s be honest—she’s hilarious). She’s a lover of organization, a good to-do list, and the kind of schedule that helps her otherwise-chaotic brain stay semi-wrangled. At her core, Kyleigh is a human who cares deeply about other humans—and who refuses to let broken systems define anyone’s worth or potential.
